What a unique opportunity to escape the overdone college staples of crappy screwdrivers, I built something like this:

• 1 shot lemon rum
• 1 shot triple sec
• 1/2 oz. simple syrup
• 1/2 tsp. lime juice
• 3-4 oz. club soda

After searching around the internet for a (brief) bit, I was fairly confident that this is not yet a “thing.” As such, I am now making it official.

The closest thing I found was this guy’s recipe which looks like it sucks.

I just finally got everything updated per Don Campbell’s instructions (with my own twist).

It feels good to be back.

What I found most interesting was how linear my PR’s were from 60m to 500m. Also oddly, those two events happened to be above average. Definitely very strange.

My times are almost perfectly linear.

This is the result of one of many changes I’ve been making here over the last few days. The proper address for my site is now http://brianjtan.com. I chose this domain after much deliberation so if you don’t like it, you can buy something else for me.

In the meantime, I’ll be tinkering with the infrastructure and design a bit as I try to find new content to post as well. Hopefully I’ll be able to get into the habit of posting regularly too. Anyways, if you have any thoughts or suggestions, leave ‘em in the comments.

Eventually, I started to get a tingling sensation throughout my arms and shoulders. Breathing suddenly became a laborious task. The longer I sat there listening to and watching the film, the greater discomfort I experienced. Unsure of what to do, I tried to distract myself with the crossword puzzle to no avail. The darkened classroom made the small print impossible to read. A sensation of heat replaced the initial tingling as my vision blurred and narrowed.

I hesitantly got out of my seat, and slowly worked my way to the front of the classroom; being careful not to fall down the steps on my way there.

“Professor, I can’t stay. I feel sick” I blurted out.

My words didn’t seem to do my appearance justice, as my professor leaned away from me, like I was about to vomit.

“It’s fine, you can leave” she answered.

Barely able to stand on my own, I exited the room, still unable to see clearly. My heart-rate matched that of my post-track practice self. 10 more seconds in that classroom and I would have passed out on the floor. Baffled as to how such a seemingly ordinarily documentary could result in such a physiological reaction from me, my eventually made my way back to class for.

Weird, I know.

End of pointless story.

If anything, I’ve learned that most of us have an incredible capacity to waste time, and complain later about how busy we are. Funny how that works out huh? Anyways, now that classes have ended in preparation for finals, you’ll probably catch more of my ramblings. If I’m feeling ambitious, I might even post again once I finally get to shower (the water heater just has to break on a night when it’s 27 degrees outside).
