Facebook is SO 2006

For a while now, I’ve been hearing and seeing a lot about Twitter in the blogosphere and the internet community in general. I didn’t have a sense of what it was aside from something involving text messaging (SMS – short messaging service). Seeing as my SMS on my prior cell plan was disabled, I never looked into it. Now as a new subscriber to an unlimited SMS plan as well as my never ending quest for distractions, I decided to take Twitter for a spin. The first question that people are quick to ask is: “What is Twitter?” The answer is slightly more complicated, but someone at some point coined the term “micro-blogging” to describe Twitter. and Cats.In general, it’s a different perspective on social networking that we have grown accustomed to with MySpace, Facebook, Friendster and the likes. The general premise is that there are lot of little things we see, hear or do throughout the day that our friends may be interested in, but we wouldn’t necessarily send an email or IM to announce. That’s where Twitter comes in. You submit a 140 character “tweet” via the Twitter website, IM or SMS where your message is then posted and sent to your friends (via SMS if the setting is turned on). Third Time’s the Charm

Hi all. I’m back yet again.

I got inspired to update this place again after fixing everything up. Most of the stuff on this site now works (like the photos finally) and I’ve added some new things as well. I have a new Twitter account that’s displayed on the right side of this page (reminiscent of Facebook status updates). I’ve also updated the contact page with SMS functionality if you really want to reach me (I don’t know what for) that badly.

All that aside, so much has gone on since I last posted here in June. It seems almost fruitless to even mention all that has gone on since then so I’m not even going to try.

Currently, we’re just coming off a huge Heps victory. It feels absolutely incredible to be a part of something like Heps (Ivy Leage track and field championship) and I’m hoping to make the Heps squad come outdoor season. Even as a non-competitor this time around, the atmosphere and the excitement were just amazing. Continue reading ‘Third Time’s the Charm’

Hope for short people everywhere

This is for sure one of the best blocks in NBA history. 5’9″ point guard Nate Robinson in the 2006 Dunk ContestNate Robinson of the New York Knicks blocks 7’6″ Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets. This is the same 5’9″ Nate Robinson who won the 2006 Slam Dunk Contest.

Moral of the story: There’s hope for shorties everywhere.

Ego gratification

I whipped up a rough design of the ring I think I’ll be getting shorty
Track Ring
Pretty hot huh? Let me know what you think. ::grin::

On a different note, after last night’s football game, playing football suddenly seems attractive. I wish it wasn’t senior year because then I’d play for sure. In the mean time, I have a long wait for what should be a pretty hype track season.

I’ve also updated the song on my music page.

Photos around the world

I survived…just barely

After a hiatus from updates, I finally return. Did you miss me? Well, quite a lot has been going on since my last post, the most important being, school’s over. But we’ll get to that later. So begins my series of anecdotes describing quite possibly the most annoying/difficult week of my life; the week from Hell.
